Where to Go When Visiting Georgia, USA
The state of Georgia has a lot of culture and history etched into it and this is the reason why it is a wonderful place to visit. And it is in this state where you get the real meaning of the southern experience. Famous people have lived here like Martin Luther King and it is also in this state where the movie Gone with the Wind was to have happened. In Georgia, there are diverse kinds of places and activities to do. There are state parks, and beaches, charming streets and other various forms of entertainment and activities to do. if you haven’t yet been to this state, then it is about time to plan a trip to this southern state.
The town of Blue Ridge is the center of art in this state. People have fondly called this town as the Switzerland of the South since it is the center where you find a lot of art and craft galleries and where you can enjoy live music performances. This small town is surrounded by wooded areas where you can have hiking trail adventures and there is also a river named Ocoee River where you and your friends and go kayaking.
Pine Mountain is another town adjoining the Calloway Gardens resort which is complete with golf courses, beautiful gardens, and lakes. You can visit the locals in the town proper where you can get a taste of southern cuisine, antique shops and plenty of other local shops. In Calloway Gardens you can find many kinds of accommodations or nearby apartments in LaGrange, GA, which is the city next to this town.
Tybee island is a few hours’ drive from Savannah, which is an island of sandy beaches and sand dunes. Water and land activities are plenty in this 22 square mile island. You can also sit along the beachfront and enjoy the view from the island.
If you want to go trail hiking through the Cohutta Mountains of Georgia you can follow the Panther Creek Trail for a great hiking adventure with your friends. What is great about this trail is that you can see majestic waterfalls along the way which flows in multiple tiers and ends up in a pool of clear, crisp water. Here you can spend time in quiet meditative amid the gentle, relaxing sound of the waterfalls. The many campsites around would be a great place to enjoy the place with your friends.
If you love the Grand Canyon, then you will also love Georgia’s version which is the Providence Canyon located in Providence National park. The rock formations are very colorful too look at and very striking especially during the summer months. You can do rock climbing in these canyons.
